Kathryn Hahn, Riz Ahmed and Padma Lakshmi were among the stars who attended Sunday’s 2017 Emmy Awards wearing blue ribbons, leading some viewers to ask on social media about the significance of the accessory.

The ribbons are being worn to show support for the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and its “Stand With ACLU” initiative.

The organization tweeted that the ribbons are intended as a response to Donald Trump announcing that he plans to phase back the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program that provides legal protections to young immigrants. (Trump has signaled he may be open to a compromise.)

“Everyone wearing ACLU ribbons are doing so to call on Congress to pass a clean Dream Act. #StandWithDreamers #HeretoStay,” the ACLU tweeted.

Kumail Nanjiani, Judith Light and Matt Walsh also wore the ribbons at the 2017 Emmys, while Elisabeth Moss had one affixed to her clutch.
