Diane Kruger, Jean-Paul Gaultier and Andrea Arnold will join Ewan McGregor and Alexander Payne on main competition jury

Actors Ewan McGregor and Diane Kruger, directors Alexander Payne and Andrea Arnold and fashion designer Jean-Paul Gaultier are among the Cannes Film Festival jury members revealed by festival director Thierry Fremaux on Wednesday.

Other jurors on the panel: Palestinian actress and director Hiam Abbas, French actress Emmanuelle Devos and Haitian director Raoul Peck.

When McGregor attended Cannes in 2003, he arrived for the screening of a racing documentary in leather and on a motorcycle (left); one assumes that as a juror he will be more sedate.

Belgian director Jean-Pierre Dardenne will serve as president of the Cinefondation and short films juries, while actor Tim Roth will take that role on the Un Certain Regard jury.

Gaultier is the juror with the least presence in the film industry, though he has designed costumes for a handful of movies, including "The Fifth Element," "Bad Education" and "The Cook, the Thief, his Wife and her Lover."

The 65th Cannes Film Festival will run from May 16 through May 27 in the South of France.
