Exclusive: ‘Voltron’ Writer Justin Marks Leaves WME for CAA

He’ll adapt Ricardo de Montreuil’s short film “The Raven” for the big screen with Mark Wahlberg attached to star

EXCLUSIVE

Screenwriter Justin Marks has left WME and signed with CAA.

Marks had been with the William Morris Agency since the beginning of his film career but he'll be looking to expand into television, video games and comic books at his new agency.

Marks started out writing short films with "The Lincoln Lawyer" director Brad Furman and has since become "the most gainfully employed professional fanboy on the planet" according to former Ain't It Cool News editor and current Hitfix staffer Drew McWeeny.

Marks' biggest produced credit has been the critically reviled "Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li," but that hasn't stopped him from scoring several high-profile studio projects.

Marks has written "Shadow of the Colossus" for Sony, "Hack/Slash" for Rogue and "Voltron." He also wrote "Green Arrow: Escape from Super Max" and "Suicide Squad" for Warner Bros. and worked on a now inactive adaptation of "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" for McG.

Marks recently signed on to write a feature adaptation of Ricardo de Montreuil's snazzy short film "The Raven," which Mark Wahlberg is in talks to star in and produce.

Two years ago, Marks' script for "Grayskull: Masters of the Universe" received an A+ grade from Latino Review. The site described it as "Lord of the Rings" meets "The Matrix" with a little "Batman Begins" thrown in for good measure.

Marks remains represented by Adam Kolbrenner at Madhouse Entertainment.
