'American Idol' Alum Katie Stevens and Rita Volk Kiss, Become Insta-Lesbians in MTV 'Faking It' Trailer (Video)

Two high school BFFs discover a new level of friendship in their quest to become popular

The trailer for MTV's new romantic comedy, “Faking It,” proves that if you kiss a member of the same-sex — even under the duress of intense peer pressure — you will instantly become gay. Or so it seems that's what happened in the below video.

After numerous failed attempts to become popular through traditional means, high school girls Karma (Katie Stevens, “American Idol”) and Amy (Rita Volk) are mistakenly outed as lesbians, which launches them to instant celebrity status among their peers. Seduced by their newfound fame, the BFFs decide to keep up their romantic ruse. After all, “Straight guys love lesbians, just watch any porno,” they argue in the trailer.

But then, something magical happens, and confetti is at the ready.
