Gross, whose more recent roles include parts in “CSI,” “Last Man Standing” and “Psych,” will play Walter Gillis, the down-to-earth founder of a groundbreaking DVD distribution company. As he works to keep his business solvent, he finds himself fending off multiple takeover bids.

Series star Patrick J. Adams posted a photo of himself with Gross on Instagram Wednesday, along with the caption, “Well call me Alex P. Keaton,” a reference to Gross’ former TV son, played by Michael J. Fox.
