‘Fargo’ Season 3: First Look at Barely Recognizable Ewan McGregor (Video)

FX anthology series returns April 19

FX has released a new teaser for “Fargo” Season 3, showing star Ewan McGregor in character for the first time.

McGregor will play two characters on the show, brothers Ray and Emmit Stussy. The younger brother Ray, who is described as “a balding and pot-bellied parole officer with a huge chip on his shoulder about the hand he’s been dealt,” is the one seen in the new teaser.

The brief clip also features Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Carrie Coon, who will star in the third installment of the crime anthology series from Noah Hawley. “Harry Potter” alum David Thewlis will also star, but does not appear in the clip.

Set in 2010, the third installment of “Fargo” centers on the sibling rivalry between Emmit and his slightly younger brother Ray Stussy. The season will follow a twisted path that begins with petty theft but soon leads to murder, mobsters and cut-throat competitive bridge.

Coon plays as Gloria Burgle, the steady chief of the local police department and newly divorced mother. Winstead stars as Ray’s girlfriend, Nikki Swango, a crafty and alluring recent parolee with a passion for competitive bridge. Thewlis plays as V.M. Vargas, a mysterious loner and true capitalist whose bosses plan to partner with Emmit, whether “The Parking Lot King” likes it or not.
