New ‘Fifty Shades Darker’ Trailer: Christian and Ana’s Relationship Takes a Dark Turn (Video)

Sequel to “Fifty Shades of Grey” hits theaters on Feb. 10

Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele’s relationship takes a dangerous turn in the new trailer for “Fifty Shades Darker,” released on Wednesday.

“I’m not very good at this … I’ve never wanted to try again,” Grey, played by Jamie Dornan, tells Ana (Dakota Johnson) at the beginning of the trailer.

The “Fifty Shades of Grey” sequel, based on E.L. James‘ book of the same name, continues to follow the erotic adventures of Anastasia Steele and business magnate Christian Grey. James Foley is directing the second installment, while Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti return to produce alongside James.

The “Fifty Shades” book series blossomed into a global phenomenon, and the first film in the franchise grossed more than $560 million worldwide, despite being largely panned by critics and audiences.

Niall Leonard, the husband of the “Fifty Shades of Grey” author, was tapped to write the film adaptation of the sequel after original screenwriter Kelly Marcel and director Sam Taylor-Johnson bowed out.

“Fifty Shades Darker” will hit theaters on Feb. 10 next year, while “Fifty Shades Freed” is scheduled for Feb. 9, 2018.
