FilmEngine Entertainment Names Former New Regency Exec Navid McIlhargey President

Navid McIlhargey, who has worked at New Regency, Silver Pictures and Revolution, will report to CEO and founder Anthony Rhulen

FilmEngine Entertainment has hired Navid McIlhargey as its President, the company announced Wednesday.

McIlhargey, who most recently served as an SVP at New Regency, will report to CEO Anthony Rhulen, who founded the production and financing company.

“After New Regency, I was excited to have a chance to help grow a business,” McIlhargey said in a statement. “With Anthony, we have the ability to finance development and production, which opens up an unlimited number of opportunities.”

Concurrent to hiring McIlhargey, the L.A.-based company closed a new seven-figure development fund with Italia Film International. The company will pursue more commercial franchise-type projects to option and develop.

At the moment, it has 10 features and 15 television projects in development and has produced films such as “The Rum Diary" and "The Butterfly Effect."

While at New Regency, McIlhargey oversaw the production and development of films such as “The Darkest Hour,” starring Emile Hirsch" and the upcoming "The Gray Man," starring Brad Pitt. Prior to working at the Fox-based production company, McIlhargey worked at Silver Pictures and Revolution Studios.
