Final ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ Trailer Puts the Blame on Iron Man (Video)

Joss Whedon returns to direct superhero sequel starring Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth and Scarlett Johansson

The final trailer for Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron” has been unlocked after a social media push and is chock-full of new footage from the superhero comic book-adaptation sequel.

Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson and Jeremy Renner all return to the roles they originated in 2012’s “The Avengers.”

This time, they’re fighting James Spader as Ultron, an artificially intelligent machine who was inflicted upon the world unwittingly by Downey’s Tony Stark during one of his more disastrous science experiments.

Joss Whedon directed the sequel after having directed the 2012 original.

The new trailer teases Ultron’s ruthlessness, Stark’s complicity in his creation, and an unexpected romance between the Hulk (Ruffalo) and Black Widow (Johansson).

The new footage also lays out the villainous roots of new characters Quicksilver (Aaron Johnson) and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), seen here joining forces with the evil robot in battle.

“The Avengers: Age of Ultron” will be released on May 1.
