First ‘Dark Knight Rises’ Teaser Poster Drives Us Batty With Hints of Destruction

First glimpse at Christopher Nolan’s latest Batman flick suggests that Gotham City is in for a rough time

The first teaser poster for Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight Rises" has hit the Internet, and while it raises more questions than it answers — which is the point, really — there are some hints of chaos and rampant destruction to come. Moviegoers will have ample time to consider the implications, as the movie — which sees Christian Bale reprising his heroic role, Anne Hathaway becoming the latest Catwoman, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt coming on board as a Gotham City cop working on a special assignment from Commissioner Gordon — won't hit theaters until July 20, 2012. Hopefully, that will give the citizens of Gotham time to stock up on hard hats, because it looks like they're going to need them.
