First Trailer for ‘The DUFF,’ Starring Bella Thorne and Mae Whitman, Released by CBS Films (Video)

“The Flash” star Robbie Amell co-stars in the Ari Sandel teen comedy film

Mae Whitman makes a startling discovery about herself in the first trailer for teen comedy “The DUFF.”

Robbie Amell, labeled “the jock” in this high school world, lets the cat out of the bag. “You’re their DUFF,” Amell’s Wesley tells Whitman’s Bianca. “You know, Designated Ugly Fat Friend. Every group has one.”

He gets a drink thrown on him for his troubles, but agrees to a “She’s All That”-type makeover deal to make her go from DUFF to dateable. First item on the makeover list: Stop wearing pajamas to school.

Bella Thorne also stars in the Ari Sandel film as the school’s resident Mean Girl.

“The DUFF” will be the first film released under CBS Films’ new multi-year distribution partnership with Lionsgate and will be released on Feb 19, 2015.
