Former ‘Survivor’ Producer Bruce Beresford-Redman Extradited to Mexico

Bruce Beresford-Redman, held in L.A. since November 2010 on suspicion of murdering his wife in Cancun, waives right to appeal extradition

Bruce Beresford-Redman, the former "Survivor" producer who's accused of murdering his wife in Mexico during an April 2010 vacation, was extradited to that country on Wednesday to face charges, NBC Los Angeles reports.

A spokesman for Beresford-Redman's attorney told NBC that the ex reality TV producer waived his right to appeal extradition.

Beresford-Redman is suspected of killing his spouse, Monica Burgos, while the two were in Cancun with their two children. Burgos' body was found in a sewer pipe near the resort where the family was staying. Prosecutors said that she appeared to have been strangled. The producer had reported her missing two days before, but reports from hotel staff that the couple had a "violent" argument during their vacation raised the specter of foul play on Beresford-Redman's part.

Also creating suspicion: Burgos' friend, Norma Paula De Ahlf, filed a restraining order against the producer's father, David Beresford-Redmond, and noted in an affidavit that Burgos had expressed concern that the father and son were plotting.

“Monica shared with me her concerns that Bruce and his father, David, were planning something,” De Ahlf wrote in the affidavit.

De Ahlf added that the elder Beresford-Redman had approached her at the restaurant she worked at and threatened her with his “hand in his shirt," as if he were carrying a gun.

The producer was arrested in Los Angeles by U.S. marshals in Nov. 2010.

"After nearly 15 months in United States custody, Bruce will finally be returned to Mexico to stand trial for Monica's murder," Burgos' family said in a statement, according to NBC. "This day marks a major milestone in our journey to ensure justice for Monica."
