Jim Gianopulos, the chairman and CEO of 20th Century Fox, will receive the Milestone Award at the 2016 Producers Guild Awards, the PGA announced on Tuesday.

The Milestone Award is the PGA’s top honor, and in the past has gone to Steven Spielberg, James Cameron, Ron Meyer, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Bob Iger and Harvey and Bob Weinstein, among others.

Gianopulos has been the chairman of Fox since 2000, overseeing films that include “Avatar,” “Moulin Rouge,” “Life of Pi,” “Minority Report,” “Walk the Line” and the “Planet of the Apes,” “Ice Age” and “X-Men” franchises. Fox’s most recent release was Ridley Scott‘s box-office hit and awards contender “The Martian.”

Prior to his tenure at Fox, Gianopulos was president of 20th Century Fox International.

“Jim Gianopulos has some of the keenest instincts in our business,” said PGA Awards co-chairs Michael DeLuca and Jennifer Todd in a statement. “His leadership at 20th Century Fox hasn’t just moved the studio forward, it’s broadened the craft of cinema.”

The Producers Guild Awards will take place on Jan. 23, 2016, the first of the four major guild awards (the Producers Guild, Directors Guild, Writers Guild and Screen Actors Guild Awards) to take place.

The Producers Guild Award is one of the most reliable Oscar predictors, with the last eight PGA winners going on to win the Academy Award for Best Picture. (“12 Years a Slave” tied with “Gravity” at the PGA.)
