Fox News Mistakes NCAA for NAACP, Just Like Anna Kendrick ‘SNL’ Sketch (Video)

“Fox & Friends First” host Heather Childers is watching a completely different tournament than the rest of us

Fox News personality Heather Childers made an unfortunate acronym slip-up on Tuesday’s “Fox & Friends First.”

“The UConn Huskies are the 2014 NAACP National Champs,” Childers said, conflating the college basketball league with the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.

Childers, of course, meant to say the “NCAA,” which stands for the National Collegiate Athletic Association.

She explained on Twitter that she knows the difference and simply “misspoke.”

Making the gaffe even more humorous,  “SNL” made the same joke just a few days prior in a “Fox & Friends” spoof lambasting Obamacare, as Mother Jones pointed out.

“It’s tough to sign up for things, I’ve tried for years to join the NAACP,” Brian Kilmeade (played by Bobby Moynihan) said in the sketch.

“Brian, why would you do that?” Elisabeth Hasselbeck (Vanessa Bayer) asked.

“Well, I just love college basketball,” Brian answered.

Apparently life truly imitates art at Fox News.
