Nothing says solemn yet joyous like … Fran Drescher.
The over-the-top star of "Happily Divorced" on TV Land, officiated at the New York marriage of Tom and Russell, who have been together more than 20 years, on Tuesday night.
The happy grooms don't know Drescher, but won her “‘Love Is Love’ Gay Marriage Contest.”
There was a tasteful moment in the ceremony, when the mens' son said, "I want my daddies to have a happy life and for them to be together forever. I love them from the moon to the stars and back again a million times. They are the best daddies anyone could have."
Drescher, who married Peter Marc Jacobson in 1978 and divorced him in 1999, after he realized he is gay, is an outspoken supporter of marriage equality.
