Fred Willard: The XXX Movie I Got Busted While Watching Was ‘Lousy’

"American Wedding" actor Fred Willard also promises a "much more PG" version of the story behind his arrest at an adult theater

The "Anchorman" actor (pictured at left, while not attending an adult movie screening) hit up his Twitter account Monday to offer his appraisal of the film, opining that it was "lousy."

He also claimed that reports of his misbehavior are exaggerated, and that he would get the real story out shortly.

"Wait til u hear my version; much more PG. & my review, lousy film, but theater would make a terrific racquetball court. Full story 2 follow," Willard wrote.

Willard didn't specify the movie he was watching at the time of his arrest, but according to TMZ the theater's bill that night consisted of "Follow Me 2," "Step Dad No. 2" and a porn parody of "The Client List."

Willard was arrested last Wednesday night after police on a routine inspection of an adult theater in Hollywood allegedly found him engaging in a lewd act.

The actor's proclamation of his own innocence notwithstanding, he was quickly cut loose from the PBS series "Market Warriors," for which he served as host, following reports of his arrest.

"Given the unfortunate news reported today, effective immediately, Fred Willard no longer will be involved with the series," a spokeswoman for PBS station WGBH said.

The good news for Willard? Regardless of whose version of events you buy — his, or the police's — it's unlikely he'll face jail time. The LA City Attorney's Office said Friday that he can avoid charges if he completes a diversion program, which will run him a relatively paltry $380.

The other good news for Willard? He still has a gig on the ABC improv comedy series "Trust Us With Your Life," which has already filmed its first season and will continue to air with Willard.

"I was not fired from TUWYL so B sure 2 watch Trust Us With your life Tues, ABC 9," Willard noted in his Twitter missive.

If Willard needs an additional gig after his axing at "Market Warriors," perhaps he can pick up some work as a porn reviewer. He seems to have an opinion or two on the topic.
