Freddie Prinze Jr Recreates Hacky Sack Scene From ‘She’s All That’

“The first two hits, maybe four, that’s me. The rest of them was a guy that’s like 6-foot-5, a professional hacky-sacker,” says the actor about the scene

Nostalgia alert: Freddie Prinze Jr. recreated his famous hacky sack scene from “She’s All That,” but unfortunately, he’s not as good in real life as he was in the 1999 film.

“So, here’s the story,” the actor told Huffington Post when asked to attempt the routine, “the first two hits, maybe four, that’s me. The rest of them was a guy that’s like 6-foot-5, a professional hacky-sacker, his name’s Ryan — I’m sorry I don’t remember his last name, I’m 40 now — and he’s way better at hacky sack than me, but I’ll give it a shot.”

The actor lasted about two reps before he let the hacky sack drop, stating, “Such is life.”

In the iconic scene, Prinze Jr.’s character Zack tries to impress Laney (Rachael Leigh Cook), improvising a hacky sack scene on stage and telling himself to “never let it drop.”

“Sooner or later, it has to drop,” he said after his performance came to an end.

In 2014, Prinze Jr. told The Daily Beast that the scene “made no sense to me whatsoever. But now, in terms of the hacky sack scene? Pretty much the same as ‘Signs.’ It’s amazing.
