FremantleMedia is getting "Wild" — the company picked up the international distribution rights to Planet Green's original series "Operation Wild" Thursday.
"Operation Wild" chronicles the lives of Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission officers who battle drunk boaters, dastardly poachers and dangerous animals.
Planet Green is owned by Discovery Communications. It was originally launched as Discovery Home in 1998, but it re-launched as Planet Green ten years later, on June 4, 2008. "Operation Wild" is currently Planet Green's most popular original series.
Fremantle signed up the rights to distribute both season one and season two of "Operation Wild." There were six episodes in the first season of the show. Season two of "Operation Wild" premieres Nov. 5. It will be ten episodes long.
"Operation Wild" is a co-production between Leslie Greif's Boutique TV and Planet Green.
