Lifetime announced Monday that they are developing a made-for-TV movie about the classic sitcom “Full House.”

“The Unauthorized Full House Story” will tell the behind-the-scenes tale of the ABC show that ran from 1987 to 1995. The show centered around Danny Tanner (Bob Saget), a San Francisco sportscaster who tries to raise his three daughters with the help of his brother-in-law (John Stamos) and his best friend (Dave Coulier).

The show also starred Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, and was an early starring role for the Olsen twins, who jointly played Michelle Tanner.

The official logline is:

“‘The Unauthorized Full House Story’ (working title) will look at the rise of the cast and the pressure on them to balance the idyllic family life on the show with the more complicated reality of their own lives outside the series, but it will also look at the warm bond that grew up between the cast as the show became one of America’s most beloved family sitcoms.”

Lifetime previously produced “The Unauthorized Saved By the Bell Story,” which told the tale of life on the set of the 1989-1993 Saturday morning teen sitcom. That film was based on a book by Dustin “Screech” Diamond.

Ron McGee, who penned “The Unauthorzied Saved by the Bell Story,” is set to write the “Full House” movie as well. No word yet on casting, however.

The movie will be produced by Front Street Pictures and Ringaling Productions Ltd. and executive produced by Harvey Kahn (“Flowers in the Attic,” “The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story”) and Stephen Bulka (“The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story,” “Dear Mom,” “Love Cher“).

The news come on the heels of the announcement that Netflix is producing a reboot of the series. Titled “Fuller House,” the multi-camera project would include Cameron Bure and Sweetin, reprising their roles as D.J. and Stephanie Tanner, respectively, 20 years after the original series ended.
