‘Furious’ Director Takes ‘Highlander’ gig

“Fast & Furious” helmer Justin Lin and producer Neal Moritz join Summit’s new “Highlander” film.

"Fast and Furious" director Justin Lin will "reimagine" the original "Highlander" movie for Summit Entertainment, the company announced Tuesday.

Lin’s partner Neal Moritz will produce the remake.

Original "Iron Man" scribes Art Marcum and Matt Holloway will do the script, as expected.

The original "Highlander" movie (1986) starred Christopher Lambert and Sean Connery as immortals who clash over the ages. The supernatural action movie spawned a series of sequels and a popular syndicated TV shows.

Longtime "Highland" franchise exec Peter Davis also is aboard the project.

Lin’s other credits include "The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift" and "Better Luck Tomorrow."
