FX’s ‘Americans’ Gets a Premiere Date

KGB spy drama is set in Reagan's America

Synchronize watches, comrads: FX's KGB drama "The Americans" has a premiere date.

The series, which stars Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys as KGB spies living in suburban Washington, D.C., during the early day of Ronald Reagan's presidency, will premiere Wednesday, Jan. 30 at 10/9c.

The couple are trying to raise two children who know nothing of thier true identities, and manage an extensive network of spies. Complicating things further is the arrival of a new neighbor, an FBI agent played by Noah Emmerich.

Created and executive produced by Joe Weisberg ("Falling Skies"), a CIA agent turned author, the series is produced by Fox Television Studios and FX Productions. Joel Fields and Graham Yost are also executive producers, along with Amblin Television heads Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank.
