“Game of Thrones” was named the most pirated TV-show on the internet through BitTorrent for the fifth consecutive year, according to TorrentFreak.
Contrary to a Dec. 13 report in The Daily Mail that claimed Amazon’s “The Grand Tour” was the new illegal download king of the world, the HBO fantasy epic still reigns No. 1, as it has since 2012.
The numbers have remained consistent with last year’s, with 350,000 people actively sharing an episode across several torrents during its peak, which was right after the “GoT” season finale became available online.
The second place ribbon goes to “The Walking Dead,” with “Westworld” coming in third.
