‘Game of Thrones’ Star Peter Dinklage Thinks George R.R. Martin's Books Are Too Confusing to Read (Video)

The actor who plays Tyrion Lannister recommends the “amazing books,” anyway

“Game of Thrones” star Peter Dinklage has admitted to not watching the hit HBO show in the past, and confessed that he also hasn't read the George R.R. Martin novels, which the fantasy series is based on.

“I started to read it, and I got confused,” Dinklage told David Letterman in a “Late Show” interview (above) on Thursday. “They're amazing books, though, George”

Martin, who executive produces “Thrones,” is already well aware of Dinklage's preference for scripts over books. Dinklage said he first made the confession while sitting right next to Martin during a Q & A session.

“How did that go?” Letterman asked.

“Not well,” Dinklage said. “But he's a very sweet man.”
