Arya Stark isn’t one to be trifled with. And neither is the actress who plays her.
“Game of Thrones” star Maisie Williams took a poke at the Daily Mail on Monday, after the news outlet chose to focus on her wardrobe in a story about the actress attending a charity event.
The Mail raised Williams’ hackles with the headline, “Unveiled: Game of Thrones’ Maisie Williams goes braless in sheer lace dress and quirky headpiece at charity masquerade ball.”
The headline topped a story about Williams attending Saturday’s Summer Masquerade Ball for the UK charity National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children.
Williams apparently felt that the Mail’s take on things was flippant and offered her own suggestion for a headline.
“Alternative,” the actress tweeted. “Game of Thrones actor, Maisie Williams, helps raise thousands at a Summer Masquerade Ball for @NSPCC.”
Ouch. Williams might be against cruelty to children, but clearly she’s not averse to giving the press a spanking when she feels they deserve it.
