Not only did MTV bring back “TRL” for one special day dedicated to Ariana Grande on Wednesday, the pop star has also been revealed as a performer at the 2014 Video Music Awards.

Grande made the announcement while shooting “Total Ariana Live” at MTV’s New York studio.

“I’m so excited to perform ‘Break Free’ at the 2014 VMAs,” said Grande. “I can’t wait for my loves to see what we’ve been working on.”

The 21-year-old singer and actress is the first MTV VMAs performer to be announced. She’ll perform “Break Free” for the first time with Zedd.

Grande’s next album, “My Everything,” will be released on Aug. 24, the day after the 2014 MTV VMAs. It is her second album after “Yours Truly.”

“Yours Truly” debuted at No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard 200 selling 138,000 copies in its opening week. This made Grande the first female artist to have their record debut in the peak position since “Animal” by Kesha in January 2010, and the fifteenth female artist overall.
