Don’t worry “Game of Thrones” fans. George R.R. Martin clarified statements that said he hasn’t watched the show. He has!

The original Metro article stated that the “Game of Thrones” author has been so busy with writing and touring that he hasn’t had the time to sit down and watch the show.

However, in an email exchange with Entertainment Weekly, Martin clarifies the statement. It’s hard to tell if he’s referencing the specific notion that he’s been too busy to watch or that he hasn’t watched it, but he does say that the confusion may have stemmed from how when he was abroad, he didn’t watch television at all and is behind on the current season.

Martin did say he watches it though, so don’t worry.

He has been busy though. He’s been steadily working on “The Winds of Winter,” the sixth book in the “Song of Ice and Fire” series, which many might view as his most important current project.

However, he’s also working with HBO on an adaptation of the 2010 sci-fi and fantasy novel “Who Fears Death” by Nnedi Okorafor and is consulting on a number of “Game of Thrones” spinoffs in development. His novella “Nightflyers” is also getting developed at Syfy and recently received a pilot pickup.

It’s unclear still when the final season of “Game of Thrones” will air, so Martin has time to catch up.
