‘G.I. Joe’ Crew Member Killed in On-Set Accident

Worker was reportedly working on a scissor lift that tipped over

The set of "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" was the latest to be struck by tragedy, when a crew member died following an accident during the New Orleans production.

Crew member Mike Huber was tearing down the set Tuesday when the scissor lift he was working on tipped, leading to fatal injuries, according to several sources.

Paramount would not confirm details, but did provide a statement: “Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with the Huber family at this time. The safety of our cast and crew is our top priority and the studio is fully cooperating with all investigating agencies as they examine the circumstances surrounding this unusual accident.”

This marks the second recent on-set accident leading to the death of a crew member. In late October, one stuntman was killed and another was seriously injured on the Bulgarian set of the sequel to "The Expendables."
