Golden Score Awards Set for July 22

Event was rescheduled from April after honoree Sammy Nestico was injured in an accident

Rob Reiner will host ASCAP's rescheduled annual Golden Score Awards on July 22 at the Universal Hilton Hotel.

The awards, presented by the American Society of Music Arrangers & Composers, this year will go to Marc Shaiman and Sammy Nestico.

The awards had been scheduled for April 29, but Nestico sustained injuries in an accident that prevented him from attending. ASMAC's board decided to postpone the event so both honorees could be acknowledged equally and honored together in person.

Marissa Jaret Winokur Marc ShaimanShaiman, a member of ASCAP's board of directors, is an award-winning film, television and theatrical composer, lyricist and arranger. He will receive the 2010 Golden Score Award.

Arranger-conductor Nestico will receive the Award for Lifetime Achievement in Arranging.

Jenifer Lewis, Marissa Jaret Winokur (right, with "Hairspray" composer Shaiman), John Clayton, Johnny Mandel and the Citrus College Blue Note Orchestra will provide the evening's entertainment, along with surprise guests.
