'Batman' Prequel 'Gotham' Finds Its Bruce Wayne in 'Touch' Star David Mazouz

Newcomer Camren Bicondova will play teenage orphan and pickpocket Selina Kyle on the Fox drama

“Gotham” criminals beware: the Fox drama has cast the young man who will one day take you down.

David Mazouz has been cast as the preteen Bruce Wayne, who has been sentenced to a solitary life after the tragic murder of his wealthy parents. Serious and soulful, young Bruce relies on the guidance and protection of Alfred Pennyworth (Sean Pertwee) and Det. James Gordon (Ben McKenzie).

Based upon characters published by DC Comics, “Gotham” is a Batman prequel that explores the origin stories of Commissioner Gordon and the villains that made Gotham infamous.

Mazouz and Bicondova are the final two series regulars.

Bruno Heller (“The Mentalist”) wrote the pilot script and will serve as executive producer. Danny Cannon (“CSI”) will direct and executive produce the pilot.

They're making all the mistakes Smallville made, in less time, with more money, and it hasn't even aired yet. Not a good sign.

This show has me even less excited than Arrow, but once I started watching Arrow, I loved it. I can say that beyond a shadow of a doubt, I will not be watching this one. There is no way they can make this show bearable to watch with that young of a cast. Had they made Bruce around 20 something and starting his training, that might have been watchable. I am sorry, but I really hope they don't expect me to believe that a 13 year old boy will help take down a seasoned Mob Boss.
