GQ Names Sarah Ball Executive Digital Editor Amid Expansion

Ball joined GQ.com in 2014 after serving as deputy editor at VanityFair.com

GQ named Sarah Ball executive digital editor, editor-in-chief Jim Nelson announced Tuesday.

Ball joined GQ.com last year as senior editor after serving as deputy editor at VanityFair.com. With Ball running digital, GQ will embark on a redesign over the next few months set for completion by fall.

At the same time of Ball’s ascension, GQ.com is expanding elsewhere: building out a new music section sparked by the launch of The Legacy Project this month, recently hiring Jason Zengerle as political correspondent with an outlook on the 2016 election, and appointing Matthew Schnipper as senior editor in 2014 to helm style coverage.

“Sarah’s appointment comes on the heels of a handful of exciting new announcements for GQ.com,” says Nelson. “I look forward to seeing her exercise her great taste and editorial judgment as we grow the site over the next few months.”
