Gravitas announced on Thursday that the company will release writer and director's Michael Taverna supernatural thriller through VOD on June 17, followed by a theatrical release in 20 markets on July 25.

The remake of a Japanese horror film of the same name, based on a novel by Kei Ôishi, stars Mischa Barton ("The O.C.") as a woman who moves into her sister's former high-rise apartment in downtown Detroit to investigate her death. Barton soon realizes, however, that she may meet the same cruel fate as her sister unless she can overcome the strange events that are terrorizing the inhabitants of Apartment 1303.

Nolan Gallagher, founder and CEO of Gravitas Ventures, promised that the supernatural thriller "will frighten apartment dwellers and home owners alike."
