‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Promotes 4 Actors to Series Regulars

Camilla Luddington, Gaius Charles, Jerrika Hinton and Tessa Ferrer have been promoted for Season 10

ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" has promoted Camilla Luddington, Gaius Charles, Jerrika Hinton and Tessa Ferrer to series regulars for Season 10, a studio representative confirmed to TheWrap.

The four actors joined the medical drama's last season in recurring roles: Luddington as Jo Wilson, Charles as Shane Ross, Hinton as Stephanie Edwards and Ferrer as Leah Murphy.

All four actors appeared on the Season 9 finale, "Perfect Storm," in which the hospital lost power and the staff was forced to work in the dark.

They were added in the wake of Season 8's devastating deaths and injuries in a plane crash storyline that carried through into the show's ninth year.

The series' Season 9 finale earned a 3.0 rating/8 share with 8.6 million total viewers — a 27 percent decrease from the previous season's finale. Despite the dramatic drop in viewership, ABC renewed the series in May.

TVLine first reported the promotions.
