TheGrill 2015 Line-Up Adds Van Toffler, Robert Kyncl, Ynon Kreiz and Jason Hirschhorn

TheWrap’s sixth annual conference slated for Oct. 5-6 brings together the deciders, influencers and disrupters at the intersection of entertainment, media and technology

TheGrill is pleased to announce that Van Toffler, YouTube content chief Robert Kyncl, Maker CEO Ynon Kreiz, Evolution Media Capital Founder Rick Hess, CAA’s Brian Weinstein and REDEF’s Jason Hirschhorn will join TheWrap’s sixth annual media leadership conference.

They join other business chiefs, thought leaders and innovators who will gather to debate the future of entertainment and technology at Montage Beverly Hills Hotel on October 5-6, 2015. Now in its sixth year, TheGrill brings together the most innovative thinkers and commanding voices from all areas of entertainment. The conference and its intuitive and thought-provoking speakers will examine the future of the entertainment industry as the digital age continues to transform the way content is created, distributed and consumed.

Today’s group of industry leaders join previously announced speakers Oscar-winning producer Brian Grazer, A&E Networks President and CEO Nancy Dubuc, Conde Nast Entertainment President Dawn Ostroff and Box CEO Aaron Levie.

Van Toffler is the former President of Viacom’s Music & Logo Group, a post he recently left to launch a content creation and acquisition company, under the working title “Below The Radar.” Over his nearly three decades at MTV Networks/Viacom, Toffler presided over successful brands like MTV, MTV2, VH1 and CMT. Under his leadership, these brands launched some of the biggest hits in pop culture including “The MTV Video Music Awards,” “The CMT Music Awards,” “Catfish,” “Jersey Shore,” “Punk’d,” and “Jackass.”

Robert Kyncl is YouTube’s Head of Content & Business Operations and former Vice President of Content at Netflix. Kyncl’s visionary work has landed him in Billboard’s Power 100 List from 2012-2015, as well as AdWeek’s 2013 “Top 50 Execs Who Make The Wheels Turn.”

Ynon Kreiz is the CEO of Maker Studios. After a career steeped in creating hit programming across the globe for TV, including his role as CEO of Endemol Group, the world’s largest independent television production company, Kreiz made the switch to short-form video in 2012. At Maker, Kreiz and his team are dedicated to adapting to the changing face of entertainment and fostering talent and premium content to fit Millennials’ needs.

Rick Hess is a founder and Co-Managing Partner of Evolution Media Capital. At EMC, Hess has presided over large advisory transactions in the entertainment industry as well as investments in upcoming businesses. Previously, he oversaw the packaging and financing of feature films at CAA’s Film Finance group, and has served as an executive for several film production companies.

Brian Weinstein is the Head of the Corporate Finance Group at Creative Artists Agency (CAA). Working primarily in the realms of television, film, music and sports, Weinstein concentrates on corporate development as well as spearheading new ventures on behalf of CAA and its clients.

Jason Hirschhorn is the CEO and Chief Curator of REDEF. Combining his experiences from former posts as Co-President of Myspace, Inc. and Chief Digital Officer at MTV Networks and his incessant curiosity, Hirschhorn launched REDEF to curate trending news stories in easy-to-digest, well-researched nuggets for modern news readers.
