Guillermo del Toro’s ‘The Strain’ Offers Creepy, Crawling Teasers (Video)

Based on the books by del Toro and Chuck Hogan, the FX series treats vampirism as an infectious outbreak

“The Strain” is looking to put a whole new twist on the vampire genre. Based on the novel trilogy by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan, the pair wrote the pilot episode with del Toro directing it. In their story, the classic vampire mythology is re-imagined as a deadly viral outbreak that must be stopped before it spreads uncontrollably.

FX is keeping a close lid on details, but they have offered a few short teasers that are heavy on atmosphere. And creepy crawling things.
