Halle Berry Cancels Oscars Appearance Due to Broken Foot

Motherhood-related injury prevents “Monster’s Ball” star Halle Berry from fulfilling her presenter’s duty this year

Halle Berry will not be among the celebrities at the 84th Annual Academy Awards on Sunday.

The "Monster's Ball" star, who was due to present at the ceremony, has been forced to cancel her appearance due to a broken foot, an individual with knowledge of the cancelation confirms to TheWrap.

Berry broke her foot while filming the sci-fi mystery drama "Cloud Atlas" in Spain in September, and the injury did not fully heal in time for the ceremony, as had been anticipated.

According to People magazine, the actress injured herself on a day off in Majorca, while chasing after her daughter, Nahla, who herself was in pursuit of a goat on some rough country terrain.
