HBO Debuts Trailer for Aaron Sorkin’s ‘The Newsroom’ (Video)

The drama stars Jeff Daniels and goes behind the scenes of a 24-hour cable news network

He's gone behind the scenes of the White House ("The West Wing"), Facebook ("The Social Network"), a sports news series ("Sports Night") and a sketch comedy show ("Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip"), and now HBO has debuted the trailer for "The Newsroom," Aaron Sorkin's behind-the-scenes look at a cable news network.

Jeff Daniels stars as Will McAvoy, an anchor at a 24-hour cable news network. In the preview, McAvoy tries to keep his audience after his meltdown/"awakening" during a public appearance goes viral.

"I'm a registered Republican … I only seem liberal because I believe hurricanes are caused by high barometric pressure and not gay marriage," McAvoy jokes to his boss in the preview.
