“Undisputed Truth” draws 882,000 viewers with its initial airing
Here’s another way that Mike Tyson and Beyonce are different: Tyson’s HBO documentary didn’t do nearly as well as Beyonce’s documentary.
The premiere of the Spike Lee-directed “Mike Tyson: The Undisputed Truth” drew 882,000 with its initial airing at 8 p.m. on Saturday — not quite the 1.8 million that the documentary “Beyonce: Life Is But a Dream,” which also premiered on a Saturday, drew with its February premiere.
To be fair, the Beyonce special was a record for HBO documentaries. And to be fair again, with re-airings throughout the weekend factored in, “Undisputed Truth” matched the Beyonce documentary with a combined 1.8 million viewers.
Meanwhile, the Kenny Powers saga drew to a close with the series finale of “Eastbound & Down,” which drew 899,000 viewers with its initial 10 p.m. airing, and 1.2 million across two plays — both highs for the series’ fourth and final season.
