Blizzard’s digital collectible card game “Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft” will continue to grow soon with its freshly detailed “Whispers of the Old Gods” expansion, which will add 134 new cards to the free game for PC, Mac and mobile in late April or early May.

Blizzard held a livestream this morning with producer Yong Woo and designer Ben Brode to discuss some of the new cards and the changes the expansion will bring to the competitive game. New info was then added on the “Hearthstone” official site at Blizzard’s Battle.net.

“Old Gods” will introduce new game modes to “Hearthstone.” In Standard mode, cards from previous “Hearthstone” expansions won’t be used, whereas Wild mode will allow for any card in the game to be played in a sort of free-for-all.

The expansion will be centered around four Old Gods of the “Warcraft” universe: C’Thun, Y’Shaarj, Yogg-Saron, and N’Zoth. Players who purchase a “Whispers of the Old Gods” card pack will also receive C’Thun and a pair of Beckoner of Evil cards as a one-time bonus. Additionally, Blizzard will be pre-selling a bundle of 50 card packs for $49.99.

Hearthstone was released on computers in March 2014 and expanded to Android and iOS devices over the course of the following year. More than 40 million “Hearthstone” accounts have been created. “Whispers of the Old Gods” will be the third deck expansion, after “Goblins vs. Gnomes” in late 2014 and “The Grand Tournament” last summer.
