Hewitt Succeeds McGuire at The CW

Will oversee PR for all the network’s programming, advertising and station communities

Paul Hewitt was named senior vice president of network communications at The CW on Friday.

He succeeds Paul McGuire, who on Thursday was promoted to the post of senior VP, worldwide corporate communications, Warner Bros. Entertainment.

Hewitt was McGuire's No. 2 and moves up from VP, corporate communications.

In his new role, Hewitt will oversee communications for the network in the areas of programming, advertising and stations. He also will be responsible for overseeing CW program publicity campaigns across all media platforms in collaboration with Pamela Morrison, senior VP, publicity and talent relations, and Bonnie Moffet, senior VP, photo publicity.

Before joining The CW when it was created from the 2006 merger of The WB and UPN networks, Hewitt had been VP of communications at UPN since 2003. He joined UPN a year earlier as director of corporate communications.

Before that he was manager of corporate communications at Fox, where he started in the network's research and marketing department in 1995.
