Three of the world’s best — like Olympic medalists and world record holders good — runners will attempt to run a sub-2:00 marathon with the help of Nike on Saturday.

Sounds pretty cool, but why is it a big deal to watch?

Because the current world record holder is Kenya’s Dennis Kimetto who ran the marathon in two hours, two minutes and 57 seconds — which is pretty damn fast.

Running a marathon in just under two hours (1:59:59) would mean that the runners would need to average a four minute and 41 second mile … for 26.2 miles.

This attempt at a sub-2:00 marathon will take place on Saturday at 5:45 a.m. Central European Summer Time a.k.a Friday night at 8:45 p.m. Pacific/11:45 p.m. Eastern at the Formula One race track in Monza, Italy.

Eliud Kipchoge, Lelisa Desisa and Zersenay Tadese are the three brave runners that will attempt to run a marathon in under two hours with the help of a Tesla pace car which will maintain a pace of two hours. The pace car is the key — it’s how the runners involved will know where they stand in their pursuit of history.

So how do you watch?

You can livestream the event on Runner’s World here. The stream will start 15 minutes before the actual race begins. You can also watch it on Nike’s Facebook page here.
