Shock jock says he decided to return to NBC reality show after “a lot of thought”
Howard Stern is returning for more “America’s Got Talent.”
The radio shock-jock announced that he’s signed on for another season as judge on the NBC reality competition, breaking the news on his radio show.
Stern said that he had arrived at the decision to return to the show following “a lot of thought.”
“After a lot of thought…and I say this with peace and love…I am going back to America’s Got Talent!” he said.
Stern joined the show for its seventh season, following the departure of judge Piers Morgan. The season premiere featuring Stern’s debut in May 2012 was down 16 percent in the key 18-49 demographic compared to the previous season premiere — though the earlier premiere may have benefited from “The Voice” following “Talent.”
The most recent incarnation of the judging panel, for the show’s eighth season, consisted of Stern, Howie Mandel, Melanie Brown and Heidi Klum.
