Hulu CEO Jason Kilar has removed his name from consideration for the Yahoo CEO position, a Hulu spokeswoman told TheWrap.
“As has been reported, Jason Kilarhas been a focus of the Yahoo CEO search committee. He has graciously declined to be considered,” the representative e-mailed, declining to comment futher.
Kilar’s (pictured) decision to drop out of the running comes a day after reports surfaced that the Yahoo board was looking at both him and interim CEO Ross Levinsohn for the permanent position.
Though Levinsohn was seen as the frontrunner, Kilar has earned a great deal of respect for his guidance of Hulu over the past four years.

Reporters and analysts have floated his name out there for prior openings, with many believing he wants to leave the company. He has deflected those claims in previous interviews.
“I’m not the kind of guy that dabbles in a lot of things; I tend to go deep. And I’m a big believer in the long term. … It’s highly amusing to read all the stuff that gets written, but all I’d ask … is judge me on my history,” he told AllThingsD’s Peter Kafka in April.
