‘The Hunt With John Walsh’ Nabs Best-Ever CNN Original Series Premiere

Walsh captures 330,000 viewers in the key 25-54 demographic

John Walsh “hunted” strong ratings: He got his man.

“The Hunt With John Walsh” on Sunday night debuted to the best ratings ever for a CNN Original Series premiere in the 25-54 demo, with 330,000 viewers.

It had 989,000 total viewers. Both totals were good for No. 1 across cable news in the 9 p.m. timeslot, when Fox News aired “Fox Report Weekend” and MSNBC ran a documentary.

Compared to the prior four Sundays, CNN grew 89 percent in total viewers and 96 percent in they key news demo.

This is the 10th premiere that falls under the CNN Original Series banner. Other series include “The Sixties,” “Inside Man,” “Parts Unknown” “Chicagoland,” “Death Row Stories” and “Crimes of the Century.”

Hosted by victim’s rights activist John Walsh, “The Hunt” exposes stories of ongoing domestic and international criminal investigations of fugitives, and is produced by the Peabody and Emmy Award-winning Zero Point Zero Production Inc. (“Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown”).
