‘I, Tonya’ First Trailer Shows Margot Robbie Skating Around Tough Childhood, Relationships (Video)

Robbie stars as the disgraced figure skater in the film that will hit theaters on Dec. 8

The first full-length trailer for “I, Tonya” has dropped, and in it, we can see Tonya Harding (Margot Robbie) go from a young figure skater in training to the best in the world.

“I was the best figure skater in the world at one point in time,” Robbie says in the trailer. “My entire life, I’ve been told I won’t amount to anything.”

The trailer also sheds light on her relationship with her boyfriend Jeff (Sebastian Stan), with whom she had a tumultuous marriage that ended in divorce in 1993.

The rest of the video also reveals some of Robbie’s personal life, including the influence of her mother in the way she trained to become the best figure skater in the world.

Robbie stars as disgraced Olympic figure skater Harding, who became a household name after her ex-husband and bodyguard orchestrated a physical attack on her main competitor, Nancy Kerrigan.

“What kind of person bashes in their friend’s knee?” Robbie says to the camera in the trailer.

Bobby Cannavale, Caitlin Carver and Allison Janney also star in the Craig Gillespie-directed film.

It premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September and will hit theaters on Dec. 8.
