Ice-T Extends ‘Law & Order: SVU’ Deal for Two More Years

Actor-turned-rapper also says that a replacement for departing cast member Christopher Meloni has been chosen yet

Fear not, "Law & Order: SVU" fans; Detective Odafin 'Fin' Tutuola will be back on the case when the long-running NBC police procedural returns in the fall.

Rapper-turned-actor Ice-T (real name: Tracy Marrow), who plays the thick-skinned, sharp-tongued Tutuola announced via his Twitter account on Friday that he has finalized negotiations to return to the show, writing, "EXCLUSIVE: I've just locked in my new SVU deal.. So I'll officially be back for the next 2 years at least. DONE."

Marrow's announcement is the calm in the eye of the storm for the series, which has been in a state of tumult of late. In May, Christopher Meloni, who has played Detective Elliot Stabler since the series' 1999 debut, decided not to return to the series. Fellow star Mariska Hargitay will be back for the 13th season, but in a much smaller capacity. (There's also been tumult for the franchise at large, with the flagship show, "Law & Order," being canceled by NBC last year after 20 seasons.)

The actor added that no replacements have been chosen for the series yet.
"At this moment no one else is locked as new members of the show," he tweeted.

Fans of the "Cop Killer" rapper-turned thespian can get their fix over the summer with the reality series "Ice Loves Coco," which focuses on his relationship with his wife Nicole "Coco" Austin and premieres on E! on June 12.
