"Hangover" writers Jon Lucas and Scott Moore wrote the story about a guy who walks into a bank at the same time as two different gangs head in to rob the place. After a shootout, the guy, Tripp Kennedy, played by Dempsey, tackles the smart, pretty teller to protect her.

Minkoff ("The Forbidden Kingdom," "The Lion King") directed the movie, which premiered at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival.

Dempsey, Mark Damon and Peter Safran produced.

IFC Films will release the film theatrically and on its video-on-demand platform. A rep said that the company has not yet decided whether the film will debut simultaneously on both platforms.

The company also picked up "The Ledge" at Sundance.
