I'm happy that Eric Braeden will be coming back on the show, I love him dearly. I think the ones that is not too importantant should be off the show. I would like someone to really give blind-boy a good beating, really good one and make him see stars. Sharon is so stupid is there no other man than Adam? I feel I could give her some good........ Jack is my boy he is a sweetheart! I love Jack, Ashley, Victor,Phyllis, Nickolas, Michael, Kevin, Nikki, Mackenzie, Chance, Cloe, Lauren,Daniel and Amber. I love this show.

The show would have died without Victor, people would just loose interest and move on to watch another show. The same thing would happen as it did when Mat died on Another World.

The best thing I seen Victor do was fire Adam and reinstate Neil after Adam fired him, I can't wait until his non-blind but get's fired again or better yet, let Nick have a shot at him.

I was not going to watch the young and the restless if Victor left and been watching for 30 years. However Icannot figure out how Victor could be dumb enough to believe Ashley had a baby. Adam better confess and be a good person or he is gone. So glad you are back VIctor.

Am I the only one that was looking forward to him leaving? I am ready for a NEW Y & R.

Sure there are many die hards and they cannot imagine Young and the Restless without a said Victor Newman, but I for one am ready for the change. I am so sick of no one being able to beat Victor at his game and him having the upper hand at all cost. The circle of The Untouchable Mustache has run it's course with me.

I am looking forward to the day that Newman Enterprises has been swept from under him, him losing all his money and him being left with absolutely no dignity. The great and powerful Victor is amazing at one thing only, IMO, and that's grating on my nerves.

Yes,,,if Victor was to leave Y&R,,the show would not last 1 year,,,maybe thats what Sony would like to see,,who knows,,,what the Network idiots are thinking. No one could replace Victor( aka the Moustache and the new one - Mumbles- lol) I cant think of ANY star that could replace him , not because he is the best actor ( sorry, Eric you are not ) but he IS Victor, grumpy, selfish, mean, good looking ( and he knows it ) and he is such a large part of what the show is ( with Katherine and Jack ) how can anyone have that evil chemistry with him except Jack, who will he listen to except Mrs. C ?? I have only been watching for about 9 years, so there are things I dont know in their backgrounds but it appears that they have always been involved in each others lives, family and/or business.I dont think Eric was ever going to leave - he just wanted the attention- how " Victor " of him...........

Is the show making less money that warrants the pay cut? I would think they could get rid of some of the non-essential characters first before letting the stars of the show leave or have to take a 33% paycut. If Eric/Victor wasn't part of the show, it wouldn't be worth watching (that includes Nicki, or Paul, or Jack or Nick or Victoria and love Paul).
So glad he's staying so I can keep watching.

I am sooooo glad Victor is staying on. It just wouldn't be the same without him. He IS the show. I hope the writers let Sharon get her baby back. I can barely stand Ashley's character. I didn't like her when she was acting crazy and I like her less now. I agree with what so many others have said, let all of Adam's evil deeds be known, let Sharon get her baby back and SEND ASHLEY BACK TO B&B.

I do hope that the writers actually listen to what everyone is saying. Your story lines have been so bad lately that you really need to change it up. I have watched Y&R for years and have never been this bored with the show. Adam SUCKS and that story line isn't any better. It is ridiculous. Please let it end, I can't take anymore of Adam. And switching the baby??? Come on! Get real. Ashley makes me sick. Put her back on The B&B..a soap that I do not watch.

I have watched Y&R since the early days, but I agree with Veronica's post. Eric Braeden is getting paid a ridiculous amount of money to play a soap character. He has left the show many times in the past wanting a pay raise, and returned. Also, how many times do Victor & Nikki have to get divorced and remarried?? His charcter needs to be written off for good, and let the younger Newman's have better storylines!!

Y&R has been part of my day for the last 30 years! I agree, Victor's role is classic, but there needs to be some changes in his character. I find it so annoying to hear anything he says.
Turning up the volume only makes it more aggravating. Can't he speak louder? Also Adam needs to have a more updated role, one that is more upbeat. Put some more happiness into the show! There is enough evil in the world.

I am so glad "The Great Victor" is staying. Young and the Restless would not survive without him... I agree, Crazy Ashley needs to give Sharon back her baby and Manipulative Adam needs to go down and now. Gloria and Jeff are two Clowns. Phylis and Jack need to get back together and Nike and Sharon back together.And the writers can take care of the rest of the storyline. That would make me happy. I couldn't imagine Victor not on Y & R. DO NOT bring Drucilla's character back. SHE TOTALLY over-acted her character. It was almost embarassing. I'm tired of Phyllis's character constantly bad mouthing Sharon when SHE is the one who slept with Sharon's husband. Writers of Phyllis's character - move on already! Nick & Sharon need to get back together & stay. The only chemistry Phyllis & Nick have is based on sex & that's about it. Amber is annoying as hell! A new Adam is needed. I LOVE Jack! As for some of the the other characters such as Billy's new girlfriend - the WORSE actress on the show.

Give him credit for coming back for lesser pay , but come on we are talking millions , please everyone get your head out of the sand this is WAY to much money ,, people are not able to feed their children and you are all upset if victor would not return . why not give him and them all 2 million that would be GREAt . my god

I am so glad Victor is staying with Y&R. He does bring so much to his character and the show. I know everyone hates to take a pay cut but in this day and time, it is very common and no reflection on his job performance. I hope he is not being a pompous ass and throwing away a good acting job just to be difficult. I am glad her re-thinked that move.

Most of Genoa City is now populated by his ex-wives and offspring. Long live the moustache. Anyone else remember him as the German Officer on Rat Patrol a gazillion years ago?

I do not regularly watch the Y & R but have always loved Victor's and Nikkie's storyline. I was quite surprised when I heard that he was leaving the show and the reason behind it. I met him once at a tennis match several years ago and he was such a genuine and friendly person. I can't believe you would even consider letting an actor of his quality go or even think about giving him a pay cut. He is certainly worth what he makes if not more. After all, he is the show. No new actor could ever take his place.

Started watching the Y&R w/my husband in 1968-69 while we were stationed at a Army base at Ft Campbell Ky .... Remember so well the Brooks girls & Snapper the first story line, way before Victor was in the picture.... but now the Young & Restless is wrapped around Newman & I like Victor's stong character, Love Nikki , Katherine , Jill ,Jack & Paul & glad Victor's not leaving, but some of the shows writers should be fired!
Show Needs to get back to the basics which made it great. When the show was Fun to watch.
Work in the story lines of the past by revisiting via film clips of story lines like when Nikki first met Victor & was work as a stripper... Katherine ran Philip off the cliff , when she disapppeared & had amnesia ETc & Etc.... fun story lines. WAY TO MUCH WHINY Sharon and young actors & actress on show mucking it up with ( no one real cares about) story lines. Gives us some quality once again. marlo

I habe been a Y&R fan since the beginning and if Victor, Nikki,Jill,Jack,Paul and the best Kay are written off I am gone. It was bad enough when John Abbott was written off. These are he people we like to see,the ones that have kept Y&R on top for many many years not some of these snot nosed little brats that are now coming onto the show.

i was so surprised a couple of weeks ago to hear about Victor's leaving Y&R. Now he is staying and that's good. Shame on Sony for the paycuts. Victor's role on Y&R is definitely worth 1-1/2 million per year. Eric if you are staying for the fans, it is greatly appreciated. The show would not be the same without you. Infact I don't think it would last much longer if you left. It is really centered around you.

I am glad that Sony got a clue. And everyone (almost) is right - if they need to save money - get rid of some of the extra people that aren't core characters. Adam is a drip, AShley should never have been made into a crazy person - she is a strong character that could have been used better in a better story. Sharon needs to stop crying and get a life (without Nick) and please please please DO NOT bring Voctoria Rowell back - my gosh talk about a ghetto character - she so overplayed everything and never brought class or character. Drucilla's family deserved much better. And the fact the Ms. Rowell would trash the show and then beg to come back -- please ... That is when I will quit watching the show. There are so many classy, qualified african american actresses that can do more with that character...

I hate it when people make nasty remaks about soap characters,they are only playing a role.However I do agree Victor Newman/Eric Braeden is Y&R.I have watched soaps for 45yrs,and there is one thing I have learned,that there is always one person,be it man or woman, whom will be the primary reason for that shows success. I am not saying that the other main characters would not be missed they certainly would,and sorely might I add.I have to say good for you Eric Braeden,for pointing out the lack of respect and dignity that people have long since abandon towards others.I am so happy that you decided to stay,but sorry for what you had to give up as well as the others in your profession.Thank you and all the Y&R actors.

I think alot of viewers would have tuned out if they tried to replace Braeden. The replacements for Jill and Jack don't compare to Brenda Dickson and Terry Lester.

I am so glad Eric Braeden decided to stay.  The show would NOT be the same without the GREAT & POWERFUL Victor Newman........Now lets get that. wienie Adam.  Give Nick & Sharon their baby back before she is 21 and hates them.  Slap Ashley for being so ..........(CRAZY) and rude to my man Victor.  Does she know who she is dealing with?.........She wants the house?  Is she crazy.......???? AHHHHHHHHH Yah.

What a relief, Victor is back. 

Now, Y&R writers find someone, preferably a strong female character to give Victor the biggest challenge of his life in the corporate world.  Give Sharon and Nick their baby back, get rid of that low-life Adam, and put Ashley in the looney bin to recover after she loses Faith. 

I have been a fan of Y&R since the begining of the show and I am glad that Eric Braden is coming back. I was not going to watch Y&R any more if Victor was gone, but now I will be happy again and will watch the show. thanks CBS and Sony!

I'm a long-time viewer of Y&R. Eric Braeden does a great job. However, he has never been the reason that I tuned in. I do not watch the show now. I did actually watch the show up until Victoria Rowell left. Her unbelievable acting, along with great writing (which no longer exists on Y&R) made Ms. Rowell, as Drucilla Winters, my favorite daytime actress. Since she has not been given the greenlight to return to the show, I do not have the same enthusiasm about the show that I did when she was on. When she returns, the show will once again return to its former glory days. Drucilla is Y&R. Victor Newman is a terrific character, but unlike Drucilla Winters, I could do without him.

Despite the minority two opinions who erroneously stated they would have been happy for Y&R to go on without Eric Braeden (Victor IS Y&R you cannot have one without the other!) I am relieved to see I am not the only one who would have stopped watching the show had Eric B./Victor left for good.  I wholeheartedly agree with another post author who brings up the point that it would be completely stupid to mess with a winning formula!  Y&R has not won numerous daytime Emmys by accident!  When something "ain't broke don't try to fix it!"

You wanna save money Sony???? Get rid of stupid crap storylines like Deacon! Puhleeeze!!!!?  Why is anyone wasting their time even writing that?!  Victoria sleeping with him?  COME ON!! If Vicoria was going to cheat on J.T. it certainly would NOT have been with Deacon of all people!  Moving on to more money saving tips...get RID of this "new" Adam!  My god he SUCKS!  Taking Sharon's baby and giving it to Ashley, that was so a prime example of "cheap" writing that other soaps (who do NOT win Emmy's) utilize!!!  Y&R is better than that.  Something is definitely going on with the show's quality.  Do what you can to get it back but you definitely do NOT slit your own throats by messing around with the people who have a history of making Y&R ...well...Y&R!

Thank god our Victor is back! I reschedualed my recording time for Y&R, I erased it! I was fully ready to boy cott after Eric left, I was ready to never again watch it! I'm extatic, this made my week for sure! We can all rest easy mustache fans, i'm so glad!

I am so happy that "Victor" aka Eric Braeden  is remaining on Y&R....otherwise you would have lost me and my three daughters as long time viewers..EB's portrayal of "Victor" is essential to the story line...none can do it better!

Well, I am disappointed!  I was looking forward to a Victor-free show!  Sorry but Victor is nothing but an AIR-HOG!  The actor refuses to graciously step aside and let his on-air kids take the lead even though they are now in their 30's.  The poor writers are forced to come up with more and more ridiculous stories to keep him front and center including two back-to-back baby stories despite Victor being 70!  UGH!  It's disgusting!  He needs to let go of his enormous ego and let the other actors on the show share some of the spotlight he has hogged for years!  Move him to the backburner where he can play dolls with his grandkids!

I am very happy that Eric is coming back to Y & R.  The show would not be the same without him. Love him or hate him but Victor is Genoa City.

I am going to rest easier tonight knowing Victor will be back filming soon.  I could not imagine Y&R without Victor.  Love him or hate him, he is an essential character, just like many, many more Y&R actors are.  My mother and I are long-standing viewers.  Why anyone wants to mess with this winning formula, is beyond my understanding.  Y&R is a part of my life and heart.  If the parent company is having trouble making ends meet, I would gladly pay to watch.  Just keep your greedy hands off "our favorite show".  So much on tv is horrible.  I have a hard time finding something that I enjoy.  I love Y&R.  I mean it, stop messing around with it!

The man is an egomaniac just like the the character he plays. If he is going to continue the role, he needs to start using fixodent.

Too bad!  I was looking forward to him being gone for good.  There's been nothing new with his character in years.  He and Nikki have been back together so many times, it's a joke.
