Kate Gosselin Moves Closer to a Talk Show Career
Maybe they'll call it Paula and Kate Plus Cake.
Celebrity chef Paula Deen teamed up with tabloid queen Kate Gosselin over the weekend to tape a pilot for a possible daily syndicated talk show, industry insiders confirmed Monday.
Deen has had a talk show development deal in place with Warner Bros. TV's Telepictures unit for more than a year. A week ago, E! Online reported that Gosselin -- fresh off last week's guest co-host stint on ABC's "The View" -- could be up for a regular gig co-hosting the show with Deen.
Telepictures is said to be considering multiple formats and possible co-hosts for the Deen show, which may end up resembling a version of "The View." One concept would have the show tied to MomLogic.com, a website owned by Warners.
US magazine's website reported Monday that, in addition to Deen and Gosselin, comic Julie Gold, journalist Rene Syler and Lee Woodruff were also at the weekend pilot taping.
Gosselin, who shot to fame in TLC's "Jon and Kate Plus Eight" reality show, confirmed the rumors that she might be going the talk show route at an appearance last week at the Southern Women's Show in North Carolina.
"I've been given the gift of gab, so why not use it?" Gosselin said, according to a report in the Charlotte Observer.
Should Telepictures decide to hire Gosselin, it's most likely the studio would begin pitching the show to local stations for a fall 2010 debut. However, given the heat behind Gosselin, the studio might want to speed up that timetable.
Reps for Telepictures, which produces talk shows fronted by Ellen DeGeneres and Tyra Banks, declined comment.

Well, all you people must be crazy!! i love both Paula and Kate and i am so looking forward to watching their new show and am looking forward to seeing how they metamorphis into new and improved people. Kate could do better without Jon. She is a super mom and i'm sure it is really hard to go through what she has gone through and i thank Paula for 'seeing' a good person in Kate. God bless them both.

OMG, so tired of Kate Gosselin. This is a terrible move for WB. This woman is bad news and has nothing in common with the public. She will turn something good into something bad real quick. Nope I will not be watching the mommie dearest on anything or buy anything she has dealing with. To much more on tv and in the real world to deal with all the bad things she represents. I am so done with her it is almost funny, I am not alone! Now, if she is on this show-I pretty much can say I am done with Paula for supporting such a horrible person and WB. There is always something better to do than to support such a thing!

I am so excited for this! I love them both and can't wait to be part of the studio audience!

So, some of you won't watch because you don't like Paula and some of you won't watch because you don't like Kate!!! Don't you people know that what or who you like doesn't matter? Paula Deen and Kate Gosselin both have popular shows on television now and their Q ratings are probably very, very high.
I imagine Warner's and Telepictures have probably done surveys and focus groups and discovered that both Paula Deen and Kate Gosselin are popular enough and could carry a talk show. The only problem now would be who the other two or three hosts would be. (One would HAVE to be a real news person or someone who could keep everybody in line and make them focus.

I agree with the rest of them: I won't watch Paula, and will make sure that I forget what time her tv show is on already. I noticed that the both of them have something in common: as they get more famous, they seem to "improve" their looks to justify situations: BOTH have gone the way of way too much makeup and multiple plastic surgery! I loved Paula when she first started, and would talk about her "boyfirend" Michael - and the dogs would both be in her old kitchen. Now, out with the old kitchen, in with a brand new overdone set, and way too much Paula!

I agree with Dessertgirl... I love Paula but will not watch her show if Kate is on it. Bad move Warners....

Kate Gosselin was by far the worst co-host The View has EVER had. She has nothing to say except about her marriage and kids. I can't imagine Paula Deen thinking she would be good for a co-host. She is the most narcissistic person I have seen in a long time. Good mother? I don't think so. She is so phony and unnatural. It's all about Kate who was so verbally and emotionally abusive to Jon. I recognized it the first time I watched their show and knew the marriage would never last. I know from experience.

I don't care when it previews. If it has Kate in the show, I will not watch it except for the first time to gather the names of the sponsors so that I can boycott them.
