The National Jewish Democratic Council is giving MPAA president-CEO Dan Glickman its Hubert H. Humphrey Humanitarian Award as part of a fundraising event Thursday in Washington.

Top movie execs have signed on as sponsors of the minimum $250 per ticket event -- though few if any are expected to attend. They are: Jeff Blake, vice chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment; Jim Gianopulos, co-chairman and CEP of Fox Filmed Entertainment; Brad Grey, chairman and CEO of Paramount Pictures; Alan Horn, president-ceo of Warner Bros. Entertainment; Robert Iger, president-CEO of Walt Disney Studios; Barry Meyer, chairman-CEO of Warner Bros. Entertainment; Ron Meyer, president-COO, of Universal Studios;  Tom Rothman, co-chairman and CEO of Fox Filmed Entertainment, and Peter Chernin, former president and CEO of Fox Entertainment Group.

Glickman is being honored for “his significant contribution towards making America a better nation for all.”

Before taking the helm of the Motion Picture Association of America, Glickman was a congressman and, under President Clinton, the country’s agriculture secretary.
