"Bill Moyers Journal" will end with April 30 edition.
UPDATE: Sean Hannity to Respond to 'Daily Show' Report
Young people often say they trust Comedy Central's “The Daily Show With Jon Stewart” more than “real” news. Here’s one reason why.
During a segment on last night’s “Daily Show,” Stewart noted Fox News’ Sean Hannity apparently used old footage of a Washington, D.C., protest to make a GOP rally against the healthcare bill appear larger than it really was.
Here’s the clip:
A rep for Fox said Hannity would address the issue on tonight's broadcast. (Note to other cable news networks: This is how you get ratings – get the “Daily Show” to lambaste you, then tell media reporters you’re going to respond the next night on your network, thus creating a “must-watch” moment.)
Funny, too, those “young people” might be on to something. We’re getting to a point now where satirical news shows are breaking real news, and when they aren’t, they’re being fact-checked as if they are real news networks.
Then, of course, those real news networks are lambasted for fact-checking the fake news by the fake news network.
UPDATE: Hannity's response: "We screwed up."
Here's that clip:

The clip of Hannity's response has already been removed from YouTube.

Unlike "real" news, satirical news MUST be based on a true accounting in order to be funny. The nut of a Daily Show news story HAS TO BE verifiable or else it would be nothing more than a Dane Cook or Dennis Miller rant.

Sean Hannity is a sociopath. He smears people. That is what he does. He can't help it. It is in his genes. It is what he was born to do. Smear people. He is a biological agent of smear and slander and lying.
He is poison on legs.

The words out. Tokyo Rose is getting her own show on Fox.

Charles... people that talk about money never have any.
Enjoy your mom's basement though Mr. Bigbux, lol.

I don't know what the heck you people are talking about. Somebody has too much money or whatever but as far as I know this article is about the gross misrepresentation that Fox News continues to placate.
They are the poster children of hate and dissension as all they seem to be capable of is conspiracy theories, promote rallies of violence and contradict themselves by being against things about this administration that they were okay with during the Bush years.
To use footage from another event to hype up another is not only insult to journalism but also an insult to their devoted watchers. Are the faithful Fox Hounds that stupid and blind that they don't see that they're being hoodwinked and brainwashed by Fox? I guess if you still believe that Fox is honest and has its viewers best intentions at heart then you are truly an idiot lemming that will believe anything and everything they say.
For your sake I hope their next show isn't called Bungie Jump with No Bungie Cord to prove how American you are (hosted by Lou Dobbs).

Charles,
You and your ilk are the problem with humanity. What an inane bourgeois boor. More than one vacation home an a donation to charity that you write off on your taxes, effectively making the rest of the taxpayers pay for your charity giving. You are a non reflective boorish braggart whom most people probably find repulsive.

It occurs to me that two richest people in the world are both self made, and both progressives. Bill Gates and Warren Buffett. I don't see anything wrong with advocating the notion that ones political predisposition is what garners "true freedom and strength", but it's sad for you if you think that whatever money you've made lends any credence to your position. Always the sign of a sad and insecure person. I've been very fortunate, but whenever I hear someone denigrate others that they assume have less, I wonder why they aren't embarrassed by their own bragging. I can't imagine anything more embarrassing than bragging about my own money to people that might have more than I. Hard to imagine that someone who does that feels sincerely free or strong.

The Republicans figured out long ago as Bush was planting the seeds of the economic nightmare we're "enjoying" now that they wanted no part of running the executive when the crap hit the fan. I can't think of any other reason for them to include such an unqualified disaster as McCain & Sarah Palin on their ticket, unless they purposely intended to loose the election.

@Don:
The form mentions cable issues:
"Broadcast (TV and Radio), Cable, and Satellite Issues"
So I can only assume it's valid.
Either way, it can't hurt.

To Charles:
Forgive me for nit picking but (to) in the manner used, "...Go ahead complain, nit pick, and name call all you like, when you finally realize that true freedom and true strength come from living a conservative lifestyle, it will be to late, you'll be bagging my groceries..." is spelled (too). And as for your groceries would you like paper or plastic?

Says Charles: "Liberals and left are very similar to spoiled children, that require constant supervision. Those of us that are conservative often feel that we need to "handle" you that are liberal, simply so you don't hurt yourselves or others."
Piss off. Let me fix that for you;
Conservatives and right are very similar to spoiled children, that require constant supervision. Those of us that are liberal often feel we need to fact-check you that are conservative because you wouldn't know the truth if it smacked you in the face.
Also, to your tired liberals-on-the-gov't-dole shtick; Um, its 2009, not 1989, and no one believes that tripe any longer. Most sane, educated people know that every good thing about their job, from vacation pay, to the 40 hour work week, to OSHA safety standards, hell, the entirety of the middle class, can be attributed to a liberal.
Also, too, keep the postcard, Charles, I fear it'd be too hard on you to have to actually write both numbers *and* letters. (wink)
AoC Says
I think you misread the context of whats being talked about here. I have no problem with conservatives or the conservative ideals for the most part. Personally I am a centrist, left leaning yes, but core centrist.
What is bothering me and so many others, including many conservatives is the complete and total misrepresentation of the actual news by FOX News, Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann and others of their ilk.
It is one thing to be against an issue and to fight against it but it is another to not have the facts or to make something up and report it as truth.
It is simply, morally and ethically wrong to do so.
And as far as your having money? Who cares? I cetainly dont. There are far more important things in this world than money.
One of them being able to sleep well at night knowing I did no harm to anyone, didnt steal from anyone and was the best person I could be that day. Can you say the same?

@ Joec: If you still think Letterman is funny, then there is a reasonably high probability that are either over 40 or mentally handicapped. Either of those puts you pretty far from the Daily Show's target demo. So don't worry, bud, it's just not meant for you.
Charles Says
Yawn!
What I think is the most humorous issue here, is all the people that use Fox News as the target for hatred of Conservatism.
Liberals and left are very similar to spoiled children, that require constant supervision. Those of us that are conservative often feel that we need to "handle" you that are liberal, simply so you don't hurt yourselves or others.
Go ahead complain, nit pick, and name call all you like, when you finally realize that true freedom and true strength come from living a conservative lifestyle, it will be to late, you'll be bagging my groceries at the local store and living off whatever the government decides to hand out to you. I'll be sure to send you a post card from one of my vacation homes, while I donate more money then you make in a year to the charity of MY choosing.

I think you need to wake up and realize that FOX News is not nor has it ever been a News source. It is heavily biased towards Rupert Murdocks ideals of a conservative nation.
Exactly what are you angry about anyway? Is it that a 'third rate narcissitic comedian' like Stewart shows FOX for what they are? And that is a lying/ distortion of truth/ make up the details kind of organization?
Or, simply that they got caught at what they do best? See the above for the details.
THEMEDIA Says
If you are as outraged about this as I am, I strongly encourage you to file a complaint to the FCC here:
http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm
The appropriate Complaint Type is "Broadcast (TV and Radio), Cable, and Satellite Issues" and the Complaint Category is "Unauthorized, unfair, biased, illegal broadcasts" (the form states that this includes "Biased or distorted news stories by the media"). The original show aired on Fox News at 9:00 pm Eastern on November 5th 2009.
We have an avenue to correct this type of falsification and to make change we must make a complaint.

stewart is a third rate narcissitic comedian who isn't even funny like letterman he puts his comedy on hate and humiliates anyone disagrees with him fuck you jon

The Fox rep is an idiot who is living in the past. I can watch Hannity's response to Stewart on YouTube 20 minutes after it airs.
Even if some people do tune in, they will be Daily Show viewers who won't continue watching Hannity. So the temporary spike would just make for a difficult comparison in the future when it will appear that Hannity's ratings took a nose dive.
That said, I can't wait to hear his response. I'm sure it will compound his dishonesty. - News Corpse
